Good akhlaak, namely good moral.
Our great religion Islam which has been sent to maintain happiness and safety both in the world and the hereafter consists of three things; Imaan, amel and ikhlass, namely sincerity. Imam Rabbani (k.s.) says the following in his Mektubat-i Shareefah about these three things; “In order to reach the eternal salvation, it is needed to pay heed to these three things.”
Good akhlaak is an important characteristic for ones who have maintained these three things. With the result of good akhlaak, the rewards achieved are countless, because a person with good akhlaak will always be prone to good deeds. Allah c.c. says the following in the holy Quran: “Those who spend (of that which Allah has given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loves those who do good” ( Âl – i İmran /134)
Dear Mumins Like in every subject, Rasulullah (sas) was the best example in good akhlaak for all mankind. It is said the following about Rasulullah (sas) in the holy Quran: “And verily, you (O Muhammad) are on an exalted (standard of) character” (Qalam/4) Such a great example Rasulullah (sas) explains the importance and the degrees that good akhlaak will result to in many of His hadeeth-i Shareefs.
Abdullah ibn Amr (r.a.) narrates the following: “Rasulullah (sas)’s holy speeches and actions were never unpleasant, he never used to imitate anything that was unpleasant and said “The most beneficent of you all, are the ones with good akhlaak” In another hadeeth-i Shareef it is said “In the day of judgement, there will be nothing heavier than the good akhlaak of a person that will be put on his scale. Allah c.c. does not love those who commit and say unpleasant things.”
When Rasulullah (sas) was asked which deed will result a person entering Jannah, he replied “Takwa (namely the fear of Allah) and good akhlaak”, and said “Because of good akhlaak, a person will reach the rank of the ones who fast during the day and pray during the night”
Consequently, becoming a complete Mu’min and firm with good akhlaak is only possible by following the sunnah of Rasulullah (sas) who says “I have only been sent to complete the good akhlaak”, also by following the path of the Sahabi’s of Prophet Muhammed (sas) and the Alims of Ehl-u Sunnah wel Jamaah. Therefore we as Muslims must give the best effort regarding this subject.
